The PajamaVille community is the creation of Mr. Pedro. A few years back, he bought both pejamas.com and pejamas.net. He signed up with a web host, but had decided he wanted to host the primary site on his own computer. This decision mostly came out of ease, as it made it easier to update and keep tabs on the site. It also allowed for FTP capabilities. pejamas.com redirected to his computer, and pejamas.net was used with the online host. At this time, Pedro was paying $15 a month for the web host, but was sadly not using it. The decision came later to move the entire site over to the web host. There were issues of web connections and slowdown. It was probably unsafe to have open communication ports on his computer anyway. As a bonus, though, the server ran on Linux based servers, which was much better than a Windows based web host.

Prior to the switch, Pedro had already been hosting a number of web pages. He had also begun work on Journalize, a script system devoted to keeping a journal, much like other blogs you find online. This script was written entirely by Pedro, and he spend many long nights elbow deep in PHP code. When the decision came to switch, the question became clear. Should the web host be used with the .com or left as .net? pejamas.com was what people seemed used to, yet it made things more difficult. So the decision was made to have the host remain as .net and the .com domain was to simply redirect users to the correct address.

After the switch over to the server, Pedro's idea for a community began to blossom. He maneuvered Journalize into a subdirectory, as well as the web pages he was hosting, including his own (which had previously been the main domain page). He then began the difficult task of creating a portal script from which users could access all the options he had plans on incorporating. The name "pejamas" (which actually was inspired by Mrs. Karrina) gave him the idea to call the community PajamaVille.

Since the beginnings of PajamaVille, Pedro has been scripting code from scratch. Some things have worked and some things haven't. Some changes have had to be made to old script, and new script has been added. Still, the goal is clear: to have a community where people can go to do just about anything.
